AWARDS

To apply for any of these awards, please register for the conference and then follow the instructions provided during the registration process.

Early Career Investigator Travel Stipend Awards

Eligible candidates must be graduate students or post-doctoral students from an academic, government, or non-profit entity.

Applicants will need to include their CV/resume, an abstract, and a letter from the PI of their lab or group confirming their status as a student or post-doc.

All required documents must be submitted at the same time. Once abstracts are submitted, they cannot be revised or edited.

As a recipient of an Early Career Investigator travel stipend you would be expected to:
 • Prepare and present a poster based on the abstract you submit. Posters will be displayed on a 4 x 8 poster board (provided).
 • Be available for questions during the poster session.
 • Attend all other conference sessions. Deadline for submission has been extended to midnight on June 8, 2009.

Roger Davis Investigator Award for Transitional Faculty (Downloadable PDF)

Eligible candidates must have at least two years of post-doctoral work but no more than 3 years in first faculty position, with clear evidence of progress towards independence.

Applicants must provide their CV/resume, an abstract, and a letter from their mentor confirming their faculty position and progress towards independence. All required documents must be submitted at the same time. Once abstracts are submitted, they cannot be revised or edited.

As a recipient of a Roger Davis Investigator Award for Transitional Faculty, you would be expected to:
 • Prepare and present a poster based on the abstract you submit. Posters will be displayed on a 4 x 8 poster board (provided).
 • Give a 10-minute talk on your poster at the beginning of the poster session.
 • Be available for questions during the poster session.
 • Attend all other conference sessions. Deadline for submission has been extended to midnight on June 8, 2009.

David L. Williams Lecture and Scholarship Award (Downloadable PDF)

Eligible candidates must be an Instructor or Assistant Professor faculty working in the general area of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism and atherosclerosis.

Applicants must have no more than 5 years since their faculty appointment to Instructor or Assistant Professor, and they must submit a manuscript that has been published within 1 year of the application date.

Applicants must provide:
 • A current CV • Documentation showing independent grant support
 • A letter from the Department Chair confirming applicant's status as an independent investigator

As a recipient of the David L. Williams Lecture and Scholarship Award, you would be expected to:
 • Give a 35 minute presentation at the meeting on the manuscript topic.
 • Attend all other conference sessions.

You would also have the option of presenting a poster based on your manuscript during the poster session. Please be advised - once manuscripts are submitted, they cannot be revised or edited. Deadline for submission has been extended to midnight on June 8, 2009.
